Heating and Cooling with Packaged Units
Compact solutions with comfort you can count on.
Packaged heating and cooling systems are a great choice for homeowners and businesses because of the efficiency and the economy of one self-contained unit. With a packaged unit, both heating and cooling functions are built into a self-contained unit that is installed outdoors in one cabinet, saving you lots of indoor living space. Typically they are installed either beside or on top of a home or business, on a concrete slab or other type of platform.
In a packaged system, all equipment is built into an outdoor unit. The "package" that gives it its name provides central air conditioning during the summer and heat in colder months.
You can choose models with gas or electric heating and air conditioning – or select heat-pump models for heating and cooling.
Helpful hint: Cooling efficiency is rated using SEER, gas-heating efficiency is AFUE rated, and heat pump efficiency is HSPF rated.
Bryant offers a variety of packaged systems in different sizes and efficiencies. Historically, the only choices were Gas Packs (gas heat, electric cool) and Package Heat Pumps – and these were limited in the range of efficiency that was available. With changing technology, though, the variety of product choices available has increased dramatically – including a broader range of efficiencies; more unit features, options and improved diagnostics; and Package Hybrid Units (heat pump heating and cooling with a gas fired heat source for low temperature weather and backup).
